Elders Avei, Pennington, and Simpson |
The past couple of Mondays have been pretty hectic with us running
around and being busy. Upon arrival to
this area, there were people that had been taught for forever and nothing was
really happening. Elder Rose and I have
since re-established the teaching pool of people that have been investigators
and now we are working with about 10 people and 6 of them have baptismal
dates!! It is pretty sweet to see the
blessings that can come from having faith stop and listen, and as we have been
obedient and praying for success we have been able to see the fruit of our
labors!
This ward is huge!!!!! There are
so many places to walk and so many people to talk to. I think I have given the Spanish Sisters and
Elders the most referrals because that is literally all that is here. You speak Spanish like every other house it is
crazy! Elder Rose and I were talking and
we felt like it would be cool for our ward to fast for missionary work. This past Sunday we were able to do that, and
then break the fast with a ward dinner. This
ward is super excited for missionary work and are willing to help. They just haven't been really sure on what to
do. From the East side of my area to the
West is about a 45 min drive, so we have to plan accordingly so that way we are
more efficient. I feel like I am on bike
again, but it is okay to make mistakes because I have a car!!!!
We were able to have some cool service opportunities this past week. It is very rare of people to accept help from
Mormon missionaries, but when they do it is pretty awesome to be able to serve!
It really makes me grateful for the
opportunities people accept my help because it is crazy how people think my
sole purpose is to try convert them. As
I continue to try and develop Christ like attributes, and as I am continuing to
learn more about my Savior, I can say without a shadow of doubt that I can add
my testimony to the testimony of Job when he says that he knows that his
Redeemer liveth. (Job 19:25) Stay tuned till next time for more miracles
to come :)
Love,
