WEEK 68: A BAPTISM AND A FILIPINO INVESTIGATOR

Isaac Navarro's Baptism Day

This past week was awesome, because we were able to see Isaac enter into the waters of Baptism. It was cool to be able to be apart of the teaching process with this family.

Our filipino investigator (Darf) left yesterday for the military. He said that he is going to look for our church there, so I hope he is able to find the gospel and reaches out to God as he goes through basics for the next 6 months.

We are in yet another building stage right now, so hopefully we will be able to pick it up and find the people that the Lord has prepared for us in this area. We have transfer calls this Saturday on my birthday!  It is pretty funny how amped up people get around this time, and it is prolly because the Zone Leaders are the ones that know what the next six weeks are going to be like for these peoples lives. It is fun to mess with people and give them fake clues or riddles on where they are going. That's about all, love y'all.

WEEK 67: TEACHING AND TRAINING

The past week has been good.  We were able to have ZDM, which is a training meeting where Elder Anderson and I give trainings to our zone from what we received at MLC.

We have had a drop in our teaching pool so we are in a finding mode right now.  Things are still going good though and our faith is awesome.

The new missionary schedule they came out with has allowed a lot of missionaries to catch up on much needed sleep so that has been super nice.

We have a Multi zone conference this Wednesday, and we are meeting in a place called Lake Elsinore with their zone and Elder Anderson and I were chosen to give a 20 min training on companionship inventory so that will be pretty sweet!!!!

We should be having a baptism for a 9 year old Isaac.  He is a stud and is the son of Stefanie and brother of Skye that got baptized on New Years day! Super excited for that.

Other than that we are still out trying to find the people that are being prepared for us!!! Hope all is well back in the 901!!!

Love,

WEEK 66: MAKING GREAT LIFELONG FRIENDS

We didn't receive an email this week, but Elder Pennington more than made up for it with a ton of pictures of all the friends he is making on his mission.  Enjoy!

He said that Elder Dyer hooked him up with these shoes!

WEEK 65: TEACHING A YOUNG MAN FROM THE PHILLIPINES

Darf Canonigo is from the Phillipines

So this week has been really awesome.  The highlight of my week was teaching a young man named Darf Canonigo.  I found him street contacting on exchanges with Elder Cornaby and we were able to teach him the restoration, and put him on date for Feb 26th. He is super sincere and has been in America for 4 months now, he is from the Philippines!!! We are meeting with him in the park, and he loves basketball. We play some 21, and then we teach him a lesson. He is going to basics for the Army, so we will find out when he leaves, but when we asked him about praying to get baptized, he said he was but he doesn’t know what date he leaves so when he finds out that is when he is going to pray for that date, because he said he wants to get baptized. It is awesome being a part of his teaching process, and I am praying he is the elect that has been put in our path.

We played basketball for the first time in a while as a zone and I am OUT OF SHAPE. I feel like an old man :/ That’s all for this week!!!  Love ya’ll

WEEK 64: NEW COMPANION & TEMPLE TRIP

Redlands California Temple
We didn't receive a summary email to publish this week, but we do know that Elder Pennington's new companion is Elder Anderson who was in his district in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah.  They are super excited to be able to serve together as Zone Leaders.

There are also just a few times during their mission that they are able to attend a session at the temple and that was this week.  The closest temple is the Redlands Temple, and it's always a faith promoting and spiritual strengthening experience.

They apparently also had their first training meeting with the Zone's District Leaders.

Enjoy the pics!

Being a full time missionary will be the funnest job he will ever have!
